ReProgramming the ECU

Hi, everybody I have a small Problem with regards to a ecu for a peugeot partner 1.9d 05, Is it possible to reprogam the ecu without down loading from the psa site ?? if so how is it done and what precutions should I take ?? My Second question is how do you clear a Permanent Local fault, Is this possible. Fault code P1687 Permanent fault pump module not matched-unlocked ?? any help would be nice to hear. already tried to match the Inj pump to the ecu but still comes up with a error code impossible.

And it seems as the replacement pump need coding to car.

For Lucas DCN2 as fitted to DW8B engine in Partner vehicle, P1687 code is generated as a result of fuse number 2 in the engine fuse box being present. This is a hard fault code and will not clear. Remove the fuse from the engine fuse box (it should never be fitted), clear the fault codes. Disconnect and reconnect the battery, allowing the 3 minute rule etc.

Retest and read faults after connection.

Have you tired going to a performance Software and using their tool to flash it??
