@Simple, could you check if your compilations properly install appli.com in v3.4.5?

Most users have the "Firmware Update check" disabled. Hence, it would not be useful to them. Also, the standard DiagBox update process does not perform this function.

Sometime ago I posted a thread describing the process of activating "auto firmware update" together with the needed files. So, users may perform the update using PSA Checker or follow the thread describing the auto update process.

P.S. Notice the file size difference between 4.3.5 and previous versions!!

I forgot to say, I posted the full solution for v8.50 here and if there is demand I could post it on this site:

        @simple

thank you for the link ;o) I'll try it
Effectively this is to keep a "safe" 7.x version

I tried to install v8 from cleaned system with a "double dbcleaner & reboot between" and same result ! After reboot one registry key are deleted by dbcleaner, that's all, no cleaning firebird registry keys.

I write a small reg file to correct this : at the new installation just keys in current controlset are cleanning but it it keeps keys in controlset001 & controlset002 and take their values for the new firebird service.

I write also 2 small batch files to correct error on updates 817-837 a 8.38-8.38 (kill only blocking services before launching diagbox), to keep the same rythme : install update, reboot and launch diagbox

May be I can write a new post for a "cleaning" installation of v8 with correcting this errors for windows xp, what do you think of this ?

FOr the end ;o), I'm looking for appli.com in a 8.50 version and the firmware stay in 4.3.4, have we to load a 4.3.5 for this version or can we stay in 4.3.4 c:\awroot\firmware version ?

        Thank's for all

I am not sure why this is happening in your installation, but it is good to hear that you are on top of the situation.

Firmware 4.3.5 comes with update 8.45, but it does not get installed automatically, if you wish to install it, it is available in another post on this forum.

              Hello, Simple, Are you okay.

I installed Diagbox 8.1 through 8.17, on a notebook with Win Xp, only this S.O.
              See pictures.

Why does not Diagbox 8.17 appear?

What is the gain to upgrade to 8.37?

I am very well, thank you.

I don't know why did DiagBox designers chose not to make the registry entries so that it appears in the Add or Remove programs. I also don't know what these updates fix. However, all fixes are listed here:

                  Hi,

                  I was looking for appli.com v4.3.5 in updates and I founded just v4.3.4 in 8.02 update ?
                  The v4.3.5 appli.com file doesn't come with updates ?

The reasons why APPLI.COM is NOT included in the update have been explained previously..

Also APPLI.COM 4.3.5 is posted here:

This thread has become so long with so many repeats, I would appreciate if users go through the thread and read other posts before asking questions.

Hello Simple it's about time that you find out that people are not reading all they want is the solution for their problem after they find it they leave and you don't hear about them anymore same as all the other forums.Hope this will not avoid you to keep up your good work with Diagbox you are one of the masters in the field.

Thanks patber, you are right, and if I can I will not stop helping others.

I know some people don't even come back to confirm the solution so that others may benefit, or even say thank you. But thank God, I don't have an ego issue nor do I do it for money. If it sorts their problems; I am glad. I know that people have opinions and stereotypes, but everyone represent himself only.

In fact I was thinking of completing the work on update 8.20 and posting an 8.18-8.22 in one release (8.21 and 8.22 are easy), but I recently took a (C level) management position in a technology company and I may not have the time.

@Simple: Congratulation for your new position, I'm sure you deserve it, you seem to have a great mind.
I got myself a new job too in a startup, 2 months ago.
A lot of work, but having fun and be paid for that, it's a total rebirth !

@patber, I appreciate your help but I think you are not "barking under the right tree" regarding aguy22 and me. We both have read this thread and seek information from Simple posts on other forums too, because we have the chance to be able to read in English!
Furthermore, we too reported our results and the solutions we found with his directions and help.
I think your job is related to diagnostic, it's not my case. I think you can't blame people that come here to get help because they have an issue, to go back once they have a solution. I'm not shocked with this behavior. Keep cool mate!

And regarding the v4.3.5 version of appli.com, I've seen like aguy22 that it comes with v8.45 and that there is other ways to get it. It's not the issue.
The issue is we know a file that should be there and it is not. So it may be other files missing too but we won't know if it's the case. So we alerted Simple and asked if he could check the reason why it's missing so that he can troubleshot an issue in his compilation process. And I don't think he's right saying it doesn't always install. I think it never install because the file may be in v8.45 but is not reported in his cumulative upgrade 8.42-8.46
I can read into the binary of DiagBox_Update_V8.42-V8.46.exe like in a zip file, even inside the zip it contains :
                          Code:
                          MAJDIST\APP\ddc\MAJ\deltaDDC-5.10.02.zip
and I see no appli.com occurrence at all.
In DiagBox_Update_V8.02 _by_Simple.exe for instance, I can tell you it appears twice in the file :
                          Code:
                          - MAJDIST\AWRoot\bin\launcher\appli.com
                          - MAJDIST\AWRoot\dtrd\firmware\appli.com
I don't want to fight, it's just for Educational purpose, isn't it? Just to clarify my words if it wasn't clear.

Best regards and have a nice week-end

Hi XLV600, I don't think patber meant you or aguy22, in fact both of you were polite, courteous and helpful, and if you thought it could have been interpreted this way, please accept my apologies. But there were incidents where people were not as courteous or helpful to other forum members.

Anyway, going back to Appli.com, if you look into maitresox updates up to 7.82, you will find that they do not update the firmware to 4.3.4 in spite the of the Firmware was available since 7.66/8.02. The copy in the Launcher folder is the one that gets flashed to the VCI at the start of DiagBox if this function is activated. Most people have deactivated, and they perform the update manually. and the Copy at "C:\AWRoot\dtrd\firmware\appli.com" is the latest provided by DiagBox to be copied to the Launcher folder.

At the time of compiling the update I noticed the size difference between 4.3.5 and older versions, and since it was not included in the Launcher folder of the update 8.45 and there was no information on PSA site, I became a little cautious and provided it independently and left it for the individual user to decide whether to update or not.

Please notice that if I included 4.3.5 in the launcher folder, the majority would not benefit since auto-update is disabled, and they would need to use the PSA Checker to update.

Eid Mubarak, and may you all have a happy, prosperous and peaceful times.

                              Thanks for those explanations.
Does "Eid Mubarak" mean "Bon week-end" ? I don't know Arabic but Google helps :-/
