I have a little problem with this installation, I have followed exactly all steps for the installation until nearly the end of diagbox8.01 installation, this installation stoped before completing ?? like showed in this picture :


the only difference for me is I don't have this file "C:\teleassistance\visualC\vcredist_x86.exe" after diagbox 7.xx installation and I download it from microsoft website and have a good installation of it.
I use virtualbox 5.1 on ubuntu trusty 14.04, and it works well for me for diagbox 7.62, clip v160 and delphi 2014r3.
May be somebody knows wich step they were after the configuration of path variables in the installation of diagbox 8.01?

The above happens halfway through the installation on VirtualBox if you do not have a serial number for your system, did you do this:

- C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox>VBoxManage setextradata "Your VM" "VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiSystemSerial" "System Serial"

A line, (with your own DMISERIAL), should be present in "Your VM.vbox" under <ExtraData>:

<ExtraDataItem name="VBoxInternal/Devices/pcbios/0/Config/DmiSystemSerial" value="DMISERIAL"/>

In any case, you can use the Task Manager to close the application, then perform the activation and start DiagBox again to successfully continue the installation.

Before operating Lexia or PP2000, ensure that "version.ini" in "C:\AWRoot\bin\fi" reads like this:

version=07.817

I wrote the same text "DIAGBOX8" than you gave in example because I don't understand what you mean with the "DmiSystemSerial", where I can find this serial in my VM ?
I search DMI in myVM.vbox and I don't find anything like string ?

I verify the good inscription with a "cat nano "myVM.vbox| |grep DmiSystemSerial" :

Every motherboard has a System Serial like this (CDN29326BH), inscribed on it (may also be on a sticker on the case), which can be read from Desktop Management Interface (DMI) by some software tools. So, if you can read your PC System Serial number, then you can use it for the Virtual Machine, and if you cannot or do not want to, then use any other number like ("DIAGBOX8" or "DMISERIAL" or "MY MOTHER LOVES ME").

DiagBox v8 seems to perform a check on the System Serial (probably for licensing purposes) to continue the installation.. Because we are using DiagBox v7 profile (which does not check), then we can use any number, but if we use a DiagBox v8 crack for one machine, then it will not work for any other machine with a different System Serial.

Your Windows (inside the Virtual Machine) thinks that your motherboard Serial Number is DIAGBOX8!!, and that's fine.. If you change any UUID after installing, it will stop working.

By the way, "My VM" is the name of your virtual machine, mine is called "Win-RS2" another one called "Win-XP-DB7"

I have always a problem with the installation of diagbox 8.01 who stop before a normal ending.
I've tried installation with windows xp sp3 under virtualbox 5.1 in Ubuntu trusty 14.04 with this variations :
- with or without java 8 runtime : same result (diagbox 8.01 install a redistributable jave runtime during installation)
- with or without vc++ 2008 x86 redistributable : same result
- with adding an extradata seting : DmiSystemUuid : same result

I'm going to try with vc++ 2008 x86 SP1 redistributable ??

The solution IS to use the SP1 VC++ 2008 redistributable ! Here is the link for good one :

The installation ending correctly and no error message in each starting diagbox 8 !

dis moi, je suis en version 7.82 ,si j'utilise ton tuto sans rien désinstaller de ma configuration diagbox actuelle,c'est possible d'arrivé a la version 8.xx ?
une dernière chose, ok, la version 8.xx sur 308 hdi 2012 ? car soucis de test global (pas de visualisation de test global).

Hi spoky, I am not sure I understand the first line, tlemcen is not dead!! or do you mean your user name?

Anyway, it is nice to communicate again and to answer your questions:

Part 1: You can upgrade to DiagBox 8.xx if you have a DiagBox installation that is higher than v7.49. The reason is that DiagBox 8.xx requires the file "C:\AWRoot\dtwr\cfg\config.sys" from DiagBox 7 (since we are using v7 profile). This file is created in DiagBox v7 after updating to version 7.49 (as far as I remember). So DiagBox v7.57, 7.62, 766, 7.76 and 7.82/3 will all work.

Part 2: Yes, you can install DiagBox 8.17 without removing anything, if you wish.. The way to do it is to use the “Kill_DiagBox_Tasks.bat” and
- Rename C:\APP to C:\APP7 and C:\AWRoot to C:\AWRoot7 and ensure VC++ 2008 and .NET 3.5 are installed
- Install DiagBox 8.01 and the updates as explained in the process.
- Edit version.ini to read version=07.817 before trying Lexia or PP2000.

Now, DiagBox 8.xx should be fully operatiomal. If you wish to use DiagBox v7.82, Rename C:\APP to C:\APP8 and C:\APP7 to C:\APP Also C:\AWRoot to C:\AWRoot8 and C:\AWRoot7 to C:\AWRoot. This way, you can have either DiagBox v7.xx or v8.xx working, just rename AWRoot and APP appropriately and remove the number at the end of the AWRootx and APPx folders of the DiagBox you wish to operate, how is that!!.

However, C:\APP of DiagBox v8 will work with both DiagBox v7 and DiagBox v8. So, you can leave one C:\APP and have AWRoot7 and AWRoot8, just rename C:\AWRootx to C:\AWRoot of the version you wish to operate.

With respect to the 308/2012, I don't know.. May be other colleagues can tell.

Problème !...

je suis en version 7.82 , j'ai renommer avec un "7" , ---> Awroot7
puis , installation en tant qu'administrateur
la mise a jour DiagBox_updt_802_Simple , redemarrage de diagbox...erreur !



j'ai ensuite supprimer completement le dossier Awroot qui a été créer ,supprime
le "7" devant le Awroot d'origine, et j'ai relancé diagbox 7.82
cela a fonctionné, heureusement je n'ai pas détruit mon diagbox 7.82

question que ce passe t'il ? quand on est en 7.82, on ne peux pas faire d'update ?
